Beachhead 2nd Call for Innovation Proposals
MEDTEQ+ and Brain Canada are teaming up to fund collaborative projects that tackle the challenges associated with mental illness across Canada with tangible and innovative solutions, with the goal of expediting the path to commercialization and clinical use.
This Call for innovation proposals, focused on mental health, aims to provide selected companies with privileged access to validation services in real-world healthcare settings, to structure collaborative projects that will generate commercial evidence, according to the methodology developed by the Beachhead™ Network.
Targeted Theme
Projects on all themes related to mental health will be considered. However, those that target multiple sites and/or multiple provinces in the Beachhead™ network will be prioritized given the impact they carry for the economy and patients. Projects related to digital health and the use of artificial intelligence will also be prioritized.
Objectives
The Centers of Excellence of the Beachhead™ network have developed processes to support health technology companies and their joint collaborative projects in generating the evidence needed. These processes will be tailored to the innovation proposal submitted by the companies, on a case-by-case basis. In collaboration between the selected companies, the Beachhead™ network clinical sites, MEDTEQ+, and Brain Canada, a project is then structured to meet the companies’ business ambitions, timelines, capabilities of the targeted clinical sites, and available financial support opportunities.
The objectives of the LOI are to:
- Establish the eligibility and maturity of the industrial applicant;
- Verify the level of TRL of the Innovation proposed;
- Provide a brief description of the industrial partner applicant plans to validate it, and the expectations regarding the Beachhead™/clinical centre’s participation;
- Present a first budget estimation.
